Book Cliffs, Colorado – Calcite and Barite

Way…
way….
way….

out there, at the base of Book Cliffs….
are very hard nodules.
You’ll need a hefty sledge hammer and chizzles to crack it.

The nodules frequently contain White Calcite and on occasion clear Barite
Occasionally the Calcite will be clear and transparent. No Barite this time.
