Robert Michael acquired several large Ethiopian Welo Opal crystals and cut them into various size faceted and cabochon gems. Robert faceted a dark opal crystal into a 15x15mm oval cabochon gem weighing 5 carats. Robert set the gem in a Sterling Silver pendant. While we can’t confirm that the crystal is an actual black opal, it certainly appears to be black throughout the gem. Nonetheless, it may have been dyed black. As such it is priced as a regular Welo Opal. The white spots on the gem are a reflection of the camera lighting.
