Product Description
Robert Michael mined for Rose Quartz crystals at the abandoned Clara May Mine near Buena Vista, Colorado. Originally, this was considered a quarry producing Rose Quarts for use as landscape rock. The vast majority of the material is opaque and not suitable for use in jewelry. However, Robert found several very clear spots that would be suitable within some of the large Rose Quartz boulders. The stone is very hard, and the sledgehammers actually bounced off the rock. After a great deal of effort, Robert managed to chisel out several quality pieces and faceted them into various shapes and sizes, including these two matching 7x7mm, square cushion-cut gemstones weighing 1.7 carats each. Robert set the gemstones in a Sterling Silver Post Earrings. A One-of-a-Kind set.
