Robert Michael acquired several pieces of Ethiopian Welo Opal and faceted them into various shapes and sizes. This 7mm round opal, weighing 1.03 carats, is a sister gem to the 11mm Opal, coming from the same opal specimen. It was also faceted using a Standard Round Brilliant cutting pattern and is exceptionally clear. There are a total of 97 facets. You can actually see through the gem which allows light to reflect off the natural inclusion inside the gem for an amazing color display not usually found in faceted or cabochon opals. The green, yellow and orange colors just POP. You will see multiple color reflections from the bottom facets of this gem (the Pavilion). Simply gorgeous.
