Robert Michael mines for Peridot on his own mining claim located South of Hartsel, Colorado. He faceted three of those crystals into matching 6mm round gemstones, weighing .5 carats each. Robert then set these gems, along with 1mm and 2mm VS accent Diamonds, in a 14kt White Gold Pendant and Post Earrings.
The Peridot crystals that Robert unearths at his claim tend to be on the small side, but the color and clarity are fantastic. Additionally, this location produces gemstones that consistently display a very slight yellow tint mixed in with the green, which gives Peridot such a unique color. The Arizona Peridot has a stronger yellow presence, and are easily differentiated. The yellow-green mix is mostly determined by the amount of Iron present in each Peridot crystal.
