This stone is Sow Belly Agate from the Last Chance Mine in Creede, Colorado. The pattern on the stone comes from multiple alternating layers of Amethyst, Quartz and other minerals. Robert Michael collected the stone and sliced like a loaf of bread. One slice was used by Robert to make multiple Cabochons, including this oval-shaped piece measuring 35mm by 27mm. The setting, hand made by Robert, is all Sterling and Argentum Silver.
