Robert Michael mines Peridot crystals on his own Mining Claim which is South of Hartsel, Colorado. He faceted one of these crystals into this 7x5mm pear-shaped gemstone, weighing .7 carats. Robert then set this Peridot, along with eight 2.5mm VS Diamond accent gems (.5 ctw), in a 14kt Yellow Gold Pendant. A One-of-a-Kind piece.
The Peridot crystals that Robert unearths at his claim tend to be on the small side, but the color and clarity are fantastic. Additionally, this location produces gemstones that consistently display a very slight yellow tint mixed in with the green, which gives this Peridot such a unique color. The Arizona Peridot has a stronger yellow presence, and are easily differentiated. The yellow-green mix is mostly determined by the amount of Iron present in each Peridot crystal.
Peridot is one of the August Birthstones.
