Robert Michael collects Black Tourmaline from many locations throughout the Colorado Rocky Mountains. The black color is caused by the presence of titanium atoms embedded in the crystals molecular structure.

Most of the Colorado black tourmaline is porous and includes other tiny particles, which is not suitable for faceting.  However, in one location near Evergreen Station, Colorado Robert found well over 100 quality crystals, and we’ve been faceting them of them over time.  This one is a gorgeous 6 carat, 14x10mm rectangular-shaped gemstone.  Robert set it in a Sterling Silver Pendant along with three 2.5mm clear white Colorado Topaz accent gems.

For this Pendant, we recommend an 18” or 20” Medium Venitian Box Sterling Silver Chain, #1104.

Please be aware that the items in our photos are often much larger than actual. This is done intentionally to give you a closeup view.
