Robert mines for Topaz near Lake George, Colorado, most notably in the Tarryall Mountains.  Using one of those Topaz crystals, he faceted this larger 18x13mm oval gemstone weighing 13.42 carats.  When this crystal was unearthed, it was much darker, similar to an Imperial Topaz.  However many of the Colorado Topaz crystals tend to fade in direct sunlight.  This one did as well, and eventually stabilized into this beautiful near white gemstone.  Robert set the gem in a very simple Sterling Silver Pendant to accentuate the gem.
