Robert Michael acquired several Rhodolite Garnet crystals which were mined near the Umba River located in northeastern Tanzania in the Tanga Region.  This region has abundant mineral resources and is known to produce over thirty gem quality minerals including Padparadscha Sapphire, Ruby, Crome Diopside, Opal, Pyrope Garnet, Umbalite (Malaya) Garnet, Spinel, Turquoise and Zircon.

Robert faceted one of these crystals into this 10x7mm pear-shaped gemstone weighing 2.17 carats.  He then set the gem in a 14kt Yellow Gold Pendant. This gem has a dark raspberry color and is simply stunning.

Garnet is the January Birthstone.

We recommend an 18" Small 14kt Yellow Gold Figaro Chain, #1052, for this Pendant.
