Robert acquired several Rhodolite Garnet crystals which were mined near the Umba River located in northeastern Tanzania in the Tanga Region.  This region has abundant mineral resources and is known to produce over thirty gem quality minerals including Padparadscha Sapphire, Ruby, Chrome Diopside, Opal, Pyrope Garnet, Umbalite (Malaya) Garnet, Spinel, Turquoise and Zircon.
 
Robert faceted one of these crystals into this 10x7mm pear-shaped gemstone weighing 2.17 carats.  He then set the gem in a 14kt Yellow Gold Pendant. This gem has a beautiful dark raspberry color and is simply stunning.
