Robert Michael acquired a large quantity of these Amethyst crystals specifically from the Humming Bird Mine in Colorado, and has been faceting them over time into various shapes, sizes and cuts.  In this piece, Robert cut a 10x8mm oval Cabochon-style gemstone, weighing 2.3 carats.  This gem which has a rounded surface and a flat bottom.   He then set the gem in a Size 7 Sterling Silver Ring.  Robert added two 2mm round White Topaz gemstones as accent gems.
