We purchased several Almandite Garnet crystals from a mining operation in Brazil and faceted one of them into this 9.25mm round gemstone and set it in a 14kt Yellow Gold Pendant along with three 2mm round VS1 Diamonds.
 
Most people think of Garnet as a reddish gemstone.  However, there are eight main color varieties of Garnet found throughout the world, including shades of red, orange, pink, green, black and honey brown.  Due to the presence of Iron atoms in a Garnet molecular structure, the colors will range from red, orange to brown.
