Most people think of Garnet as a reddish gemstone. While that’s true, there are also many others. Eight main color varieties of Garnet can be found throughout the world, including shades of red, green, yellow, orange, brown, purple, gray, and black, and a color changing variety. Due to the presence of Iron atoms in a Garnet molecular structure, colors will range from red, orange to brown. The presence of Vanadium or Chromium atoms produce various shades of green.
 
Robert obtained a few rare Grossular-Andradite Garnet crystal from a dealer in Mali.  We faceted one of those crystals into this 7x5mm pear-shaped gemstone weighing .83 carats.  We set the gem in a 14kt Yellow Gold Pendant along with a 2mm round VS1 Diamond.
