Citrine occurs naturally in a wide variety of yellow shades, all of which are caused by varying quantities of iron atoms in the Citrine crystal structure. We often see very pale or almost colorless Citrine. With higher quantities of iron, we see orange, wine-yellow, honey-yellow, and saffron (reddish)-yellow specimens, while others have quite a pronounced brown tinge.

We purchased a few gem-quality Golden Citrine crystals from a source in Brazil.  We sliced one of those crystals in half and then cut two matching 5mm round gemstones, weighing .5 cts each.  Robert set these in Sterling Silver Post Earrings.

Citrine is a November Birthstone.
