Robert acquired a large quantity of Amethyst crystals from the Humming Bird Mine, located South of Grand Junction, CO.  He cut one of those crystals into this 12x9mm oval gemstone weighing 4 carats. We then set the gem into this Sterling Silver Pendant.
 
This Amethyst is different in that it tends to be lighter in color than the Arizona, Brazil or Uruguay Amethyst, and therefore easily identifiable. In some cases, there is slight color-zoning in this material causing a gradual change from almost clear White Quartz to dark purple, and everything in between within each individual crystal. As such, each of these gems is quite beautiful and unique.
