The Amethyst Queen mining area, located South of Grand Junction, Colorado, is once again under claim and is producing very nice clusters of Amethyst crystals combined with many other associated minerals.  This Amethyst is different in that it tends to be lighter in color than the Arizona, Brazil or Uruguay Amethyst, and therefore easily identifiable.
 
There is also some very unique color-zoning in this material causing a gradual change from almost clear White Quartz to a near black purple, and everything in between within each individual crystal. As such, each of these gems are different and very beautiful.. 
 
We acquired a large quantity of these Amethyst crystals and we've faceted many of them including this 12x9mm rectangular shaped gemstone weighing 4 carats.  Robert set the gem in this Sterling Silver Pendant.
