Robert acquired a large quantity of Amethyst crystals from a private mining operation located near Grand Junction, Colorado. Many of these have been faceted over time including this 14x7mm marquise shaped gemstone weighing 3 carats.  Robert set the gem in a Sterling Silver Pendant.
 
This Amethyst contains some very unique color-zoning in this material causing a gradual change from almost clear white to a near blackish purple, and everything in between within each individual crystal. As such, each of these gems are different and very beautiful.
