Robert faceted these two Colorado Rhodochrosite gemstones. They are 5.7mm round and weigh just over 1 carat each. He set them in 14kt Yellow Gold Screwback Post Earrings.

Rhodochrosite is a softer gem than most and should be handled with care, similar to a delicate opal. These are not intended for daily wear.

Rhodochrosite is a softer gem than most, and careful handling in required. If the piece is dropped on a hard surface, it may damage the gem. Daily wear can increase that risk. We suggest that the gem be cleaned only with mild soap, water, and a soft bristle brush. Sonic cleaners, steam cleaners, and any harsh chemicals should never be used. With proper care, the piece will be a very beautiful heirloom.
