Paraiba Tourmaline was originally mined in the State of Paraiba, Brazil. The beautiful  and unique blue-green color is caused by trace elements of Copper within the crystal.  This particular gem is called a "doublet", meaning that it is composed of two layers of gem material that enhance the color even more.  The top this layer is Paraiba while the second layer is gem silica.  Since we're using far less Paraiba in these 6mm round gemstones, we can offer them at a significantly lower price.  Set in Sterling Silver Post Earrings.
